Prompt Engineering Reflection:
To create my AI-enhanced version of my resume, I used prompts in the latest version of ChatGPT that asked it to reframe my existing resume for a marketing-focused job or internship. I specifically requested that my leadership, teamwork, and communications experience be emphasized more heavily. I also requested that my experiences be slightly altered to align with a Marketing or Brand Marketing job or internship.
Between my original resume and the AI-generated version, the structure and content stayed the same, but the wording and focus changed that benefitted me especially because I was focusing on a marketing profession. The AI version highlighted skills such as leadership, collaboration and adaptability in a more professional way that aligned with the marketing job that the resume was focused towards. It also improved the clarity of my experiences by making it more relevant to business and marketing environments.
From this exercise, I learned that prompt engineering plays a major role in shaping what exactly the AI output to you. Small changes in how a prompt is written can significantly influence what the AI gives you. I also learned how useful AI can be for changing the same background and experience that I have in my original resume towards different career paths in the future.
